MicroWikia is the term given to the original micronational wiki that was hosted on the Wikia farm that served as the original hub of the MicroWiki community and the MicroWiki nations. Following a design change and the company's refusal to listen to its administrators, a large group of wikis left the site for other alternatives. The MicroWiki community, through discussions on the OAM forums, travelled to several other farms before eventually settling down on private servers hosted by Pierre d'Égtavie that became known as 'microwiki.org.uk'.
Following the community's abandonment of the original MicroWikia, intending to leave it as an archive, the staff of Wikia appointed Kyng Fyrst as a new administrator and this act of undemocratically appointing an administrator and rejecting the community's wishes led to a dispute between the two wikis involving many micronations requesting their articles be deleted. The dispute eventually ended with the rejection of Kyng Fyrst from the community and ultimately the Dissolution of the Slinky Empyre. However, some members of the community that were more deeply involved with the Kyng and Wikia, notably Sebastian Linden argue that, had Kyng Fyrst not requested adminship, some other, random person would have stumbled upon and subsequently been able to "adopt" the Wiki according to Wikia's policy. Linden and others continue to condemn what he perceives to be the "completely unjustified bullying" of an "innocent micronationalist", even though Fyrst has long left the micronational community.
In April 2012, Rilgar Ompastre brought up the subject of Wiki's lack of leadership and activity. Harry Fitzpatrick listened to these calls and prepared to restore the largely dormant website for the use of Monovia and a few other closely-linked micronations, however, due to the influence of other individuals, most notably Harshvardhan, the aim was extended to the creation of an entire wiki about micropatology. Later that week, Harshvardhan and Harry Fitzpatrick were promoted to Bureaucrats on MicroWikia by User:Republicfiveislands, another micronationalist who had also been granted admin powers by Wikia in 2011. Harshvardhan then claimed to run MicroWikia through a form of revolutionary council called the "MicroWiki Republican Army", but MicroWikia has since settled down into a conventional administrator-run website, home to its own community of roughly a dozen frequent contributors and with several other administrators having been appointed.
In December 2012, some users elected to move to MicroWiki after a series of revelations and controversies occurred on the site (however it has been proven that Wikia staff had not done anything of this), echoing the original move in 2010. However in the end, the MicroWikia staff eventually recovered the wiki. Admin elections for the wiki were held in February 2013.
On July 24,2013 members of MicroWikia prepared to leave due to members being tired of the wikia staff. On the day of preparation, two polls were held to move the wiki and see which way the wiki should be closed. A large group of users supported move to MicroWiki, but eventually another privately hosted Wiki was chosen, and was supposed to be set up in a week after the poll was held. Two weeks after the "deadline", the website was not yet set up and it is unlikely it ever will. Currently, the Wiki is going through several restoration and improvement projects, with limited success.
