The Parliamentary Republic of Dorzhabad (eng), La République Parlementaire de Doraeux (fr), Die Parlamentarische Republik Dorzheim (de), or the 'Dorzhabadic Republic', was a micronation which resided inside the borders of Great Britain in Europe. It was an Austenasian Protectorate between November 2010 and May 2012, the Empire of Austenasia being responsible for the defence and foreign affairs of Dorzhabad.

History

Dorzhabad was founded on 15 January 2010, after long preparations for independence since September 2009 as Daniel Morris created the nation to show that one person could gather people together and make something great. By the summer of 2010, he had gathered more than 20 citizens for the country, some from abroad. Founded as a dictatorship, during May 2010 the nation transitioned to a Republic, with Daniel as Premier.

On 15 November 2010, Dorzhabad transferred control over their military and foreign affairs to the Empire of Austenasia, becoming an Austenasian Protectorate.

Before the end of the Year, Premier Morris was voted into the Office of the Vice-Secretary General of the Antarctic Micronational Union going into a successful administration with Maarten Van Arkel, the current S-G of the AMU, affecting heavily the tide of certain decisions such as the admission of Rajputistan and the constitution ratification.

On the 10th of January 2011, Dorzhabad began to transition into a Parliamentary Republic following technical faults within the administration and regional tensions with Preissland's governor and the Preisser National Party, The Parliamentary Republic of Dorzhabad almost became 'part' of the Empire of Austenasia, however technical problems had been cleared and Preissland became calm, which is is today, with Prime Minister Morris residing in his 3rd term as Dorzhabad's Head of State.

Dorzhabad became a member state of the Union of Draegan Republics in January 2012, and was dissolved along with the Union upon the withdrawal of Morris from politics in June later that year.

Government

Dorzhabad was a Unitary Parliamentary Democracy, with its head of state also being the head of government. Its administration was a first past the post voting system of voting on major issues, with decisions regularly being made in Praetorian Hall where the Parliament would give a simple show of hands (influenced by the old Greek Democracy in Athens and the Delian League).

Dorzhabad was a single party state (although opposition parties and movements were not illegal). The ruling party was a mutation of the Previous Dorzhabadic Liberal Democratic Party, named the 'Draegan National Democrats', who strove for Dorzhabadic Nationalism, conservative liberal democracy and Dreagan Lingual Supremacy.

Parliament was not divided into MPs of counties (much like the neighboring United Kingdom), but MPHs (Members of the Praetorian Hall) were elected as Department Leaders. For instance, Daniel Morris MPH, was the Director of Supranational Affairs, and Chad Sellors MPH, was the Director of Military Missions and Tasks.

Symbols

The flag of Dorzhabad was a horizontal tricolour of black, white and crimson (resembling the North German Confederation's flag) The Parliamentary Republic's coat of arms was an edited version of the Bulgarian coat of arms, within the shield there was the tricolour with the Preissland Cross in the centre removed due to protest and eventual dissolution of the union, with the Confederation's motto still in the scroll beneath the shield, and Dorzhabad's motto beneath the entire structure

The National Anthem of Dorzhabad was composed originally by Gustav Holst, 'Jupiter'. Lyrics were constructed upon adopting the anthem, named simply after its first line 'O’er a Land, all draped in victory'

Military, Paramilitary and Humanitarian Forces

The Dorzhabadic Military was controlled by the Austenasian Ministry of Defence, but was not part of the Austenasian Armed Forces. It was instead a local militia force with the same structure as the pre-protectorate Dorzhabadic Military, but under Austensian control.

Originally the 'Army of Dorzhabad', the DSIT formed the bulk of any Dorzhabadic field operations, whilst not acting as a professional standing state army, the Taskforce was more composed as a special operations branch of the military.

The Antarctic territory of Dorzhabad, around 168,000 square miles in size, the Dorzhabadic Republic in Antarctica was a tight knit orginisation combining the capital of Alexander Island with the Dorzhabadic Antarctic Penisula and Coronation Island. The Region held membership in the Antarctic Micronational Union, with Dorzhabad regarded as a Semi-Antarctic Micronation. The claim of this territory rivaled the size of the Kingdom of Spain.
